Fiji-Fidji 2: Methodist Service and the sound of th sea (Carlos & Marie - English-Français)

Not all is snorkelling and reading. There is also old-fashioned playing in the sand.

But in the end the sea always wins, right?

After a couple of nights, we moved to different villas at the other end, the rocky end of the resort.  

This is what we see from our windows. And, not actually having glass in said windows, what we hear. Every night, we fall asleep listening to the waves. So close it seems like there is a storm every night

Methodist Church Service

Dimanche matin, Carlos et Marie sont allés à la messe au village, à l'église méthodiste; les chants étaient trèes beaux, tout le monde chantait. Une employée du resort nous a expliqué qu'ils se rencontrent tous les samedis pour préparer les chants du dimanche. Les enfants étaient tous assis ensemble, dans les bancs du devant, à gauche de l'allée centrale, et nous (les invités du resort) étions assis juste derrière eux. 

The village is about 15 minutes walk from the resort, up a hill, and down the other side. About halfway, we saw this saw with her piglets.

 Of course, the little boys would tease each other constantly. One had a bottle, which he wielded silently and with devilish cunning. Once in a while, an adult would come and pick up a crying child, one of the smaller ones. All very calmly and in a good mood. 

I tried to load a short video about the church and singing - without success. I was embarrassed of filming inside the church. There are plenty of good ones in Youtube, if you are curious. Will try again when we have better wifi service

ils sont très sympathiques et chaleureux. Ils nous touchent quand ils parlent, font des blagues avec nous, nous posent plein de questions, n'hésitent pas à nous passer des commentaires et sont toujours prêts à placoter. On ne sent pas de distance entre eux et nous, ils nous accueillent si bien que l'on a plus l'impression d'être dans un Bed & Breakfast que dans un établissement hôtelier.
